The DDA states that reasonable provision shall be made to ensure that buildings are accessible and usable by all those who could be expected to use the buildings.
The DDA affects both the design of buildings as well as existing buildings being used in the provision of goods, facilities and services. If your business or organisation does not address the issues in and or around the building, the implications can be far reaching. You can be brought to task by the local authority, a visitor or even an employee.
AA Industrial doors has a solution in place for you even on existing door operators. We have solutions to suit all budgets without compromising on safety.
Almost all sliding door systems can be easily converted to provide better access for disabled. Sliding doors are a fantastic solution for the disabled.
Suitable for a wide opening with minimal depth taken into the opening.
Swing doors are the next best solution for disabled access. Swing doors provide a wide opening for ease of access and are suitable for most environments. Swing doors do require a larger footprint to operate efficiently.
The doors themselves swing into the opening and require more room to articulate in the opening.
Bifolding doors are an ideal solution for those with an opening too narrow for a sliding door. They are also ideal for the openings that require less footprint for the doors to
operate within.
They do typically make the opening narrower by design but this usually will not be enough to affect disabled access.
If you already have an automatic door that you wish to convert for disabled use no problem. Some existing systems do allow for disabled access systems to be fitted.
However if your system is outdated and cannot be converted don't worry, a new system can
be fitted to your existing door as a cost
saving solution.
We specialise in pedestrian automatic doors, we install the latest systems to the highest legislation possible to ensure safety is
never compromised.
Our fully trained engineers comply with BSEN16005:2012 the DDA and BS7036. New installations provide the latest technologies for ease of access and safety backed up with a full manufacturer warranty.
Having an automatic door for disabled access can make a real difference to everyday lives. They make access easier for the disabled, elderly and small children who normally struggle opening heavy doors.
With a sophisticated automatic door system access to your facilities will be easy, safe and everyday life that little easier.
